Travel has always played a big part in my family, mostly in my mother's life.

I remember vividly her tales about her time in Jamaica with her sister; the culture, the food and going to a Bob Marley concert.

​

I remember her telling me about her study abroad experience in France, sharing a shower with other tenants in her apartment building and overcoming racism. Her meeting and becoming friends with Malik and Mamadou from Africa and traveling to Belgium on a whim.

I realize now how all of these stories shaped my life.
